The Sibling Support program provides support networks to young people aged between 8 to 18 years, who have a sibling with a disability. The main goal for the Sibling Support program is to support siblings to identify and use positive strategies for living with a brother(s) or sister(s) with a disability.
The Program uses Structured Activities and Workshops Such as:
► Expressing ourselves through ART
► How to deal with stress
► Ready Set Cook
► Emotions and what they Mean
► Leadership Camps
► Day visits to Sydney attractions
► Fun activities where Siblings have the opportunity to be carefree for a few hours
While most siblings share similar experiences it is important to understand and acknowledge that each sibling will take a different meaning away from each experience and that having the opportunity to talk through these experiences with others who have also been in similar situations can be invaluable.
The Sibling Support program allows for siblings to have the time to be ‘Special’ where the focus is on them. The program is held across the Camden, Campbelltown, Fairfield and Liverpool areas.
