NDIS delays changes to billing arrangements for group supports

NDIS delays changes

07 Jun 2021

In our May issue of Family Connect, we advised that new NDIS billing arrangements were being brought in by the NDIA for group and centre based supports on 1 July 2021.

These arrangements included charging for non-face to face support and centre capital costs separately from face-to-face supports - charges that are currently built into the line item line for group support.

On 2nd June the NDIA announced that it would be extending current group billing arrangements for a further 12 months, to 1 July 2022.

The decision means that providers can continue operating under the current billing arrangements until 30 June 2022, or transition to the new pricing anytime from 1 July 2021.

The Junction Works had decided to delay moving to the new pricing for now while we review efficiencies within our billing processes, including the collecting of non-face-to-face data. This means that we will not be contacting you to vary your current Service Agreement, as discussed in our May Family Connect newsletter.

We will, however, give participants and families three months’ notice of our move to the new billing arrangements, which must occur no later than 1 July 2022.
