NSW Health has announced today that from 6:00pm on Tuesday 27 July 2021 until 11:59pm on Tuesday 10 August 2021, disability day programs in Greater Sydney should temporarily cease.
The Junction Works has temporarily closed its centre-based day programs, transferring group activities to our on line program. (Email Janelle Mihas on janellem@thejunctionworks.org to find out more).
TJW is also continuing to provide individualised support and activities (avoiding group interactions), for those participants where to cease such support would result in a ‘risk of harm’ to them.
Risk of harm may include where a participant’s mental health or behaviour might be significantly impacted by a change in routine, or he / she would otherwise be at risk of harm through non-attendance. It may also come about where a carer or family does not have the resources and support to provide the person with in-home care 24 hours a day.
If you have a son or daughter who usually attends a TJW Day Program but is now at home, and you need advice or assistance with their mental health, behaviour or other support needs, PLEASE contact our Engagement Team 8777 0500.
